During his storied career with The Cult, it’s been heard on every recording, powering his mammoth rock sound. The Billy Duffy Black Falcon is a unique take on his signature guitar—a stealthy Limited Edition black finish adorns this rock ‘n’ roll staple that stands out from the flock.
Besides the obvious—the midnight black finish—this guitar also features Silver Sparkle binding, a Bigsby® tailpiece with wire handle and chrome hardware—creating a sleek look that stands out from the norm. The custom wound high-output “Black Top” Filter’Tron™ humbucking pickups easily overdrive an amplifier, generating fiery tones with rich lows and vibrant high end. The three-ply maple body with arched top and back conceals two spruce parallel tone bars and sound post for lively, resonant tone that’s unmistakably authentic Gretsch. The three-piece maple/walnut/maple neck bears a smooth-playing ebony fingerboard with wide-block pearloid inlays and unhindered upper fret access, thanks to the single-cutaway body.
A chrome-plated truss cover with Duffy’s signature, aluminum “G-arrow” control knobs and V-shaped Falcon headstock complete the plumage of this six-stringed raptor. Inspired by Duffy’s favored Baldwin-era Falcon and designed for heavy duty rock ‘n’ roll, the G7593T-BD-BK Billy Duffy Black Falcon delivers a seriously bold aesthetic statement, backed up by its loud and proud sound.
