It was only a matter of time before Robert Keeley, mad tone scientist, got ahold of some ultra-high-fidelity signal processing equipment. And when he did, three effects were born almost immediately: the Aurora, Dynatrem and the Recino. This, the Recino, is a classic digital delay circuit with an emphasis on sound quality.
All too often, digital delays feature componentry that treats headroom as persona non grata. Feeding an really hot signal into such delays cause them to clip in a very non-musical way, and forces players to arrange pedals in strange ways or simply axe either the beloved gain boxes or the delay altogether.
It doesn’t have to be like this. The Recino, Latin for echo, is built around a chip called the Spin FV-1, which ensures pristine sound quality at any input level. No longer will your signal sputter like so many lesser devices before it. Keeley got deep into the ones and zeroes and made sure that there was no unwanted noise from the FV-1, just pure, crystalline repeats that cut through any mix like a laser.
This doesn’t mean that the Recino is sterile; there is a subtle warmth to the repeats that toes the line between analog and digital in a very musically pleasing way.
The three controls are Repeat, Time and Level, as classic as the sounds that the pedal seeks to create.
